Modelled on the famous RH&DR narrow gauge railway, this model is based on the WWII adaptation of the Hercules locomotive that served with the Home Guard as the only narrow gauge armoured train in the world. Formed after the fall of Dunkirk, it was credited with two aircraft destroyed and did valiant patrol work and became a work horse in the period of the construction of Pluto, the undersea fuel line for the Normandy invasions of 1944.
The kit is a OO gauge model with N gauge wheeling. It is solid cast in resin. Some cleaning of parts will be required to remove the feed points. The armoured locomotive and tender come in six parts, all in resin, and the carriages are two piece resin with white metal bogies. To complete the train a crew of seven and some small metal detailing come with this kit and are cast in white metal. When assembled this kit forms a static model of this famous locomotive
